Mathern's Wind Energy Plan

The Democratic Candidate for Governor says wind can help reverse the deline of rural North Dakota Tim Mathern today reveals his wind energy plan Which would expand wind energy in our state Mathern says North Dakota has twice the wind that Minnesota has but Minnesota is developing three times as much wind Mathern says the state should be producing at least 10 thousand megawatts of wind power by 2020 The state is now generates 345 megawatts Mathern says his biggest concern is that the state is lacking transmission lines to get wind power to other states He says Hoeven hasn t been aggressive enough in solving the transmission problem Tim Mathern D - Gov Candidate right now our country is building the super highway of electrical transmission ND is not on that super highway Our Governor has not worked with other states to position this super highway and if we re not aggressive that super highway is going to go right past us Governor John Hoeven s campaign manager Don Larson say Hoeven has been a proven leader on energy development Larson countered all of Mathern s arguements with ways Hoeven has made improvements in wind energy since taking office For one Hoeven has established a transmission authority to focus on the transmission of wind power
