Verendrye Annual Meeting
He s dealt with weighty questions about electric rates and wind energy and he says one of the toughest issues in the future will be technology and concerns about Global Warming Don Larson has spent 19 years on the board of directors of Verendrye Electric Power Cooperative and spent the evening at the group s annual meeting About 3 500 members of the cooperative had a free meal and checked out displays regarding the future of electricity For Larson these gatherings were a way to stay connected with members - the real bosses of the business as he considers them He says it was a learning experience to be on the board of directors Don Larson Verendrye Electric I can t say that I m happy to get off the board I think it s time to let somebody else get some new and fresh ideas It s been a very enjoyable experience for myself I ve done what I can and we ll let somebody else do what they can Marty Dahl of Verendrye says the coop will be instituting a small rate increase for the second straight year because of cost increases related to expanding service and rising prices for fuel and copper wire
